- Microsoft ruled the PC market for decades with utter dominance. But today, as the future shifts toward mobile devices, things are not looking good for Microsoft. It's not that it's not trying: Microsoft is spending a lot of money and effort on cracking the mobile market, now in lockstep with Nokia, its top partner. But there's no indication yet that it's having any real success.

- Total revenue growth for the online classifieds market in Australia in 2011 was 16%, dipping 6% over the 22% growth achieved in 2010. The general shift from print to online expenditure is continuing with online accounting for an estimated 39% of total classifieds advertising expenditure in 2011, up from 18% in 2007.

- Smart mobile devices will account for 25 percent of all paid search ad clicks in Google’s network by December 2012, up significantly from 5 percent in January 2011. Click through rates (CTRs) on mobile phones are a staggering 72 percent higher than on desktops, though tablet clicks net a lower cost per conversion, according to Marin Software’s State of Mobile Search in the U.S. report.
