According to recruitment software provider Bullhorn British recruiters are world leaders when it comes to adopting social networks. A survey of 65,000 users showed that 87 per cent of U.K. recruiters post their jobs on LinkedIn, a whisker ahead of the 86 per cent of their Canadian counterparts. 85 per cent of Australians and 84 per cent of American recruiters turned to LinkedIn compared to 75 per cent for the rest of the world.

- Total revenue growth for the online classifieds market in Australia in 2011 was 16%, dipping 6% over the 22% growth achieved in 2010. The general shift from print to online expenditure is continuing with online accounting for an estimated 39% of total classifieds advertising expenditure in 2011, up from 18% in 2007.

In a sign that the home foreclosure heartbreak has not abated, Canadian property portal Point2 has announced the release of a dedicated foreclosures tab on its Point2Homes website. Data for the section comes from a variety of sources including banks and local MLS’s, which can upload an automated feed to Point2Homes.
Point2Homes is Point2’s own classified site; the company also syndicates foreclosure inventory to more than 50 third party consumer partner sites and search engines.

Bruce Akhurst, the CEO of Australian telco subsidiary Sensis, is to leave the company after 15 years at the company and seven as CEO.
Mumbrella reports that Akhurst will be replaced temporarily by Rick Ellis, Telstra Digital Media’s group MD, during the search for a replacement.
